YOKE has clubs in five East Tennessee counties
Club is an hour of high energy and fun consisting of games, songs, skits, and activities tailored for the physical, social, emotional, and spiritual needs of middle school students. Clubs meet each week on campus after school and are free to students.
Clubs are facilitated by college age and adult volunteers from the community. We call them YOKE Folk. All volunteers go through an interview, reference check, and background check. Volunteers also go through ministry training tailored to student ministry, including child abuse detection and response training.
What is the purpose of Club?
Club serves to introduce students to the YOKE leaders and build a basis for mentoring. As our volunteer mentors see students weekly, they form deeper and deeper bonds and are able to impact students' lives in meaningful ways.
What should I expect at Club?
High energy games and fun -- we do our best to tailor each school's club to the students that come regularly. If they love football, we try to incorporate that into club. If they love skits and silly games, we make that a priority. Our goal is to make club as fun as possible for each group of students so they enjoy themselves while they are at club!
When and how long is Club?
Clubs meet on different days and times (see the county links higher up on this page), but each club is for an hour.
How much does Club cost?
Club is FREE! F-R-E-E. That's right, no cost. We know, it's awesome.
How do I sign up for Club?
You just show up!
